Phones
and Call Boxes
The
first thing we all want to do when we get to our holiday destination
is call home, to let everyone know we arrived safely. An easy way
to do this is by using a telephone card, these are readily available
and can be purchased online and from telephone companies. They should
be able to provide you with information about prices, sales locations
in the UK/United States and ordering the service by telephone. If
you decide to purchase a pre-paid telephone card, be sure that the
card you choose will work in the United States.
Sun
Care and Dehydration
A
healthy glow makes us all feel great, but make sure you don't overdo
it! Even when it's cloudy and overcast the sun is still strong enough
to blister, especially, pale, freckled and baby soft skin. Babies
and children are particularly susceptible to sunburn, high factor
sun protection (25+) and plenty of liquids are essential. Avoid
the midday sun and take it easy (remember you are on holiday), wear
a hat, light clothing and drink plenty. Sun Stroke and dehydration
can lead to hospitalisation, symptoms include extreme headaches,
hot and cold flushes, rash, vomiting...don't ruin your holiday.
In
the event of the loss or theft of your passport while you are out
of the UK, contact the nearest British Consulate or Embassy who
will be able to advise you.
